How to Install on Windows 10/11
-
Download: Click the button to download the
.exeinstaller. - Run Installer: Double-click the file. Windows SmartScreen might pop up since the developer certificate is self-signed.
- Bypass SmartScreen: If prompted, click “More info” and then “Run anyway”. This is safe as long as you downloaded from our link (GitHub).
- Launch: Once installed, Pomotroid will open automatically. You can pin it to your taskbar for quick access.
Note: Pomotroid does not support Windows 7 or 8 natively. It is optimized for Windows 10 and 11.
Pomotroid for macOS
Requires macOS 10.10 or later
Native Apple Silicon support:
v1.7.1 ships as a universal binary that runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) Macs — no Rosetta 2 needed.
“App Can’t Be Opened”? Read This.
Because this is free open-source software, the developer did not pay Apple for a certificate. macOS may block it by default.
How to Bypass the Warning:
- Move Pomotroid to your Applications folder.
- Right-click (or Control-click) the app icon.
- Select Open from the context menu.
- A dialog will appear saying it’s from an unidentified developer. Click Open again. You only need to do this once.
Pomotroid for Linux
Works on Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, etc.
How to Run (.AppImage)
AppImage files are portable applications that run on most Linux distributions without installation.
Tip: You can also right-click the file, go to Properties > Permissions, and check “Allow executing file as program”. Prefer a system package? v1.7.1 also ships as .deb (Debian/Ubuntu) and .rpm (Fedora) on the GitHub releases page.
