Building a Better Workflow for
Deep Work Enthusiasts
Pomotroid.org is a project dedicated to the aesthetics of productivity. We are the bridge between complex open-source code and your daily focus routine.
The Story Behind This Site
It started with a simple search for a timer that didn’t look terrible. We were tired of cluttered, ad-filled web timers and complex project management tools when all we needed was to focus for 25 minutes.
That’s when we discovered Pomotroid on GitHub, created by the talented developer Splode. It was minimal, beautiful, and functional. But as with many open-source projects, it had a steep learning curve:
- ❌ macOS users were getting “Damaged App” errors.
- ❌ Customizing themes required editing raw JSON files without a guide.
- ❌ Users looking for mobile sync were left confused.
We built Pomotroid.org to fix these gaps. To document what wasn’t documented, and to design what wasn’t designed.

Integrity is the core of this community. Here is how we operate:
Open Source First
We always prioritize free and open-source software (FOSS) whenever it meets the user’s needs.
Transparency
If we recommend a paid tool (like TickTick), it’s because we genuinely believe it offers features that Pomotroid lacks (like cloud sync). We are transparent about our affiliate relationships.
Safety
We verify all download links to ensure they point directly to the original GitHub releases, free from malware or wrappers.
